If you’ve been following me for a few years, you would have noticed I’m always joining Art for Grabs (every year) haha! I first joined Art for Grabs when I was still in college, I think it’s in the year of 2011 or 2012? When they still do their events in Kuala Lumpur, Annexe Gallery, the one near Petaling Street..
I realise I’ve been growing a lot through out the years, be it my miniatures, or my social skills haha. I used to just sit by the corner and not talk to anyone in art markets D: I’m a very shy + introvert person, but once you get to know me – I’m just a cray cray person lol.
Art for Grabs is a very good market to introduce handmade local designs / goods, especially if you make really weird stuffs (like me haha!), it’s more like an indie event I think.. You get to see all the unusual or very local Malaysian things that brings us back to our roots 🙂
I personally don’t really like some markets out there that combines clothing and handmade together, which totally destroys the whole idea of “handmade market”… Some organisers just want to earn that fast cash, not staying right to their original idea to showcase local handmade artists… What’s the point? D:
Okayyy back to Art for Grabs – I had a really fun time! (as usual).. This is the second time Art for Grabs has been held in Publika, and I really LOVE the crowd! You get to see all kinds of people here (I managed to see some really famous Malaysian actresses, and politician peeps haha)

My neighbor is the best too! Because I’m always looking after my booth alone, I ALWAYS depend on my neighbors a lot. Like, a lot. Come on, I need to pee too :p Highlight of my neighbor: homycat 宅貓 She does these really cute plush and pillows for babies (and young adults she said lol) they are all hand sewn and hand drawn! 🙂

That white container is actually lotion I made on the spot! I’ll be using that as my hand cream for the coming month! Craftiviti, which is a store that sells hand craft supplies had a booth in Art for Grabs and they were doing all the DIY things on the spot. That body lotion DIY thing totally caught my eyes, lol. It’s really interesting and simple to make! I think it took me less than 5 minutes to make that tub of lotion – I was just stirring non stop :p
